Before Donald Trump ever stepped into the Oval Office, he could easily be found on the big screen in various movie roles.

Trump is also known for his time on reality TV, with his signature show, The Apprentice, and numerous appearances on shows such as Oprah. However, the former President appeared in many movies before his time in politics. With 30 acting credits to his name, Trump’s IMDb acting credits would surprise anyone who only knew him as President of the United States.

Trump’s movie roles

Whether Donald Trump was playing himself or someone else, his list of movie roles is extensive. His acting credits span nearly a decade of movies, some of which were extremely popular.

Ghosts Can’t Do It

Donald Trump’s first movie role was in the 1989 film Ghost’s Can’t Do It. While he does not have a ton of screen time in this movie, it is more than he has in some other films he has been in.

In this movie, Trump delivered a memorable line: “Be assured Mrs. Scott, that in this room, there are knives sharp enough to cut you to the bone. And hearts, cold enough to eat yours as hors d’oeuvre.”

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York

In one of Trump’s most iconic movie roles, he makes a cameo as himself in the film Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. While the scene is brief, it is memorable due to the massive popularity of the Home Alone movie series.

All the former President says in the film is, “Down the hall and to the left” in response to Kevin McAllister’s (Macaulay Culkin) question asking where the lobby is.

The Little Rascals

In 1994, Donald Trump appeared in the film The Little Rascals. This movie role marks one of the few times Trump has not played himself in a film. Trump plays the role of Waldo’s (Blake Mclver Ewing) dad.

He only says, ” Waldo, you’re the best son money can buy” before the credits roll.

Across the Sea of Time

Probably one of the most minor Donald Trump movie roles, Across the Sea of Time is a movie about a young boy from Russia who just immigrated to the United States.

The boy seeks to learn about his American roots, as his old family photographs reveal his origins. Trump plays the role of himself, specifically as a New York businessman.

Trump had a cameo in the 1996 film Eddie, which featured Whoopi Goldberg.

In the movie, he has a classic Trump moment, where he takes the credit for hiring the titular Eddie. Trump said in the film, “Actually, hiring Eddie was my idea from the beginning.”

The Associate

In another Whoopi Goldberg film, Donald Trump has another prominent movie role.

The Associate sees him with another short cameo, accompanying the main character to a dinner, and Trump leaves him.

While Donald Trump does not appear in the original cut of this film, he does appear in the Director’s Cut.

In the extended film, he plays the role of a VIP patron.

Zoolander

Thanks to the film’s popularity, Trump’s movie role in Zoolander is one of his most memorable.

In the film, Trump says, “Without Derek Zoolander, male modeling would not be what it is today.”

Two Weeks Notice

One of Trump’s more active movie roles Two Weeks Notice features the former President having a whole conversation with Hugh Grant. According to what he said on the Graham Norton Show, Donald Trump has no recollection of being in the movie.

“He played a bit part as himself in a romantic comedy I did with Sandra Bullock,” Trump said. “But the fact is that I don’t really remember him very well. The night he came, I had a bet with Sandy that I could make the chairman of Warner Bros. cry by 9 p.m. And I was completely focused on that. It’s quite a big bet. She didn’t believe I could do it, but I did it.”

Marmalade

In 2004, Trump made a cameo in the film Marmalade. He didn’t have any quotes in the movie, but it was his last movie appearance.
