Greek American Community Leader James Pantelidis Dies

James Pantelidis, the Vice Chairman of the Archbishop Iakovos Leadership 100 Fund and prominent business leader, philanthropist, and dedicated churchman, passed away on April 13, 2023, in New York City. He was 69 years old.

A member of Leadership 100, together with his wife, Stella, since 2004, he served on the Board of Trustees since 2009, was a member of the Audit Committee for many years, and was elected Vice Chairman in 2022.

Leadership 100 Chairman Demetrios G. Logothetis commented: “Jim was a most dedicated Christian whose love for his Church and family were evident throughout his lifetime. I was truly blessed to have Jim as my Vice Chairman. His deep faith, courage, motivation and will to ‘never give up’ are positive values for us to follow in our own lives. He will be greatly missed by all, and we pray his beloved soul will find eternal rest in God’s Kingdom.”

The Archbishop Iakovos Leadership 100 Fund is a non-profit organization whose mission is to advance the Orthodox Faith and the life-giving legacy of Hellenism in America, through support of the National Ministries of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America will officiate at the funeral service on Tuesday, April 18 at 9:45 am at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, 319 East 74th Street, New York City. Viewing will be on Monday, April 17, from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at the Archdiocesan Cathedral.

James Pantelidis served as Principal and Chief Financial Officer of Pan-Brothers Associates, Inc., a 52-year-old family-owned Real Estate Management and Development Company.

He was responsible for the development and implementation of accounting and auditing controls for a real estate portfolio consisting of 6,000 residential and commercial units. He had an extensive background in financial planning, development of internal controls, accounting systems, budgets, and federal and state tax matters.

Pantelidis was a member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, New York Association of Realty Managers, Federation of New York Housing Co-operatives, and Council of New York Co-operatives.

He held a BBA in Accounting from Baruch College. He served on the Board of Trustees at the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity and sat on its Audit and Financing Committees. He served on the Board of Cosmos FM, Hellenic Public Radio for 32 years. Pantelidis was also an avid runner and had participated in several Marathon events.

He is survived by his wife, Stella, daughters, Carli and Mariana, and son, Nicholas, along with brothers Peter and George, sister, Markella Venekas, and nieces and nephews.
