The design of the Athens Riviera Tower at Hellinikon which, when completed, will become Greece’s first skyscraper and the country’s tallest building was revealed recently by Lamda Development.

The high-rise residential tower will serve as a defining landmark of Hellinikon, the largest, most ambitious urban regeneration project in Europe and a new global model for smart cities and comprehensive, mixed-use urban experiences.

Designed by globally renowned architectural firm Foster + Partners, the building will sit 200 meters above sea level, comprising 169 one- to five-bedroom residences and penthouse apartments across 50 residential floors.

The tower will reflect the majesty of Hellinikon’s history and natural surroundings by the sea, wrapped in an advanced biophilic exterior and featuring interiors inspired by the beautiful landscape which offer the latest in sustainable design.

Athens Riviera Tower heralds a new era for the Greek capital

Foster + Partners’ interior design brings the incredible Greek coastline, water, and mountains to the forefront of the lived experience while accenting this natural beauty with contemporary and elegant finishes and natural color palettes throughout the apartments.

“The Riviera Tower heralds the continued progress of Hellinikon, as well as a new era for Greece’s built environment and economy,” said Angeliki Touziou, Chief Development Officer, Residential Sports & MUT, Lamda Development.

“The design of the building has been meticulously considered with sustainability and experience in mind. Taller buildings reduce surface coverage, resulting in more space for the green, open areas that Hellinikon is committed to bringing to the people of this city.

“As we continue to hold environmental protection and energy reduction at the forefront of our goals, the Riviera Tower and Hellinikon’s additional high-rise towers will benefit the environment through smart urban densification and accompanying greenspace.”

Alexandros Moulas, Senior Commercial Director, Residential & Neighborhood Retail, Lamda Development, said, “The Riviera Tower’s significance to Hellinikon has been reflected in its extraordinary early sales success, with over 90% of the building already reserved by domestic and international buyers in record time, demonstrating the huge appetite for this unique residential project.

Visitors, future residents, and investors alike are seeing through the Hellinikon Experience Centre that we are delivering a groundbreaking experience that is resonating globally. In addition to the building’s stunning designs and vistas, advanced smart home elements are offering buyers the future of urban living now.”

Construction began on The Riviera Tower earlier this year. The building is due to be completed during phase 1 of The Ellinikon’s project, with handover expected Q1 2026.

The Riviera Tower is part of an urban development under construction which will include a park as well as luxury homes, hotels, a casino, a marina, shops, and offices.

The park is planned to encompass 400 hectares, while another 100 hectares will be used for housing and office facilities. It is to be the largest urban park in Europe, surpassing London’s Hyde Park (250 hectares) as well as New York’s Central Park (350 hectares).

The Riviera Tower and Hard Rock Hotel Casino will be the tallest buildings in the development reaching 200 meters in height, the tallest buildings in Greece.
