Polish Woman Claims to Be Missing British Girl Madeleine McCann

Julia Wendell, a 21-year-old from Poland, has become an internet sensation after creating an Instagram account with the handle “@iammadeleinemcann.” On the account, she asserts that she could be Madeleine McCann, a toddler from the United Kingdom who was reported missing in 2007.

Moreover, she has accumulated more than 370,000 followers for the profile. She writes in her Instagram bio, “I think I can be Madeleine. I need DNA test. Police investigators from UK and Poland try to ignore me. I will tell my story in posts here. Help me.”

Julia alleges that she has a freckle on her calf and a speck in her eye in the same area as missing Maddie, who was last seen in Praia da Luz in Portugal in May of 2007. Julia believes that these physical characteristics connect them.

She also said, “I don’t remember being taken away. I mean, I don’t remember almost my entire childhood.”

Public & Official Concerns About Julia Being the Missing Kid

Julia’s story has been criticized by specialists who have pointed out problems in it, and neither the Metropolitan Police nor the Find Madeleine campaign has issued an official comment about the matter.

In her most recent post, Julia released a heartbreaking video in which she said that her family had avoided her ever since she requested a DNA test to confirm that she was the kid who went missing.

“My grandma called me,” she said in the video. “She said that I’m a very bad person, that she doesn’t want to meet me anymore. She started to shout at me. I asked her for a DNA test with her or with my parents, and she will not take a DNA test with me, and I can’t say she has to do it.”

Several people have doubts about her assertions, despite the fact that there are certain parallels between the two.

Resemblances Between the Two 

In a video, Julia pointed out markings on her body that were similar to those on the missing girl. To underline the connection, she added red circles to the footage.

In addition to that, she showed a side-by-side comparison photo of herself and Maddie and said that their facial structures are comparable.

Julia posted a picture of her eye, which appears to have the same abnormality as Maddie’s, caused by a rare disorder known as Coloboma. The authorities had anticipated that Maddie might be located with the use of this distinguishing characteristic.

People have taken notice of a number of aspects, one of which is the fact that Julia has been associated with a variety of surnames, including Faustyna, Wendell, and Wandelt.

Update About the Madeleine McCann Investigation

The last official update about the Madeleine McCann investigation was released in the year 2020. These investigators thought that Maddie’s murder was committed by a criminal with a history of sexual misconduct named Christian Brueckner.

Brueckner was charged with three charges of aggravated rape and two counts of sexual abuse of minors for alleged acts that happened over a period of 17 years between the years 2000 and 2017.

However, he has not been accused of committing any crime in connection with Maddie’s disappearance. The body of Maddie has never been found, despite the various police investigations and exhaustive searches that have been conducted.
