Elon Musk launched a perfume called ‘Burnt Hair’ late on Tuesday which has sold over ten thousand bottles in hours.

Musk described the scent as “the essence of repugnant desire” in a tweet Tuesday before changing his Twitter biography to “Perfume Salesman.” More seriously, he said that Burnt Hair is the “finest fragrance on Earth!”

The perfume sold through the Boring Company is listed for one hundred dollars with tax and domestic shipping included in the price. According to the website, it ships in Q1 2023.

The website includes an image of a red glass bottle with “burnt hair” penned in cursive silver letters and “singed” written in a bold font.

Elon Musk’s Burnt Hair perfume makes you “stand out in a crowd”

The scent is described as “just like leaning over a candle at the dinner table, but without all the hard work.” It is claimed that wearing the scent will make you: “Stand out in a crowd! Get noticed as you walk through the airport.”

In a nod to a pun of his last name, Musk tweeted Tuesday that “with a name like mine, getting into the fragrance business was inevitable—why did I even fight it for so long!?”

He also described the perfume as an omnigender product you can even pay for with Dogecoin.

Musk tweeted that over ten thousand bottles of Burnt Hair have been sold. That’s over one million dollars in sales.

While the Tesla Inc. chief executive officer has a history of launching products based on jokes, his massive fanbase has turned them into highly sought-after collectibles, Bloomberg notes.

A limited line of twenty thousand flamethrowers sold by Boring Company in 2018 to raise ten million dollars for its tunnel-building tests attracted huge interest.

He has also used such items to mock investors betting against his EV firm, including a Tesla Tequila based on an April’s Fools’ Day joke. It led to a share plunge, as well as a pair of short shorts satin underwear (priced at $69.420) to mark a victory over short sellers.
