Athens is among the top cities in the world to move to in 2022, according to research carried out by Property Guides, a UK-based real estate company.
The company which boasts offering a step-by-step resource to help people purchase a dream overseas home has picked the top 22 cities for buying a property this year. Athens features in second place, just behind Malaga in Spain.
Featuring the Greek capital Property Guides says that the pandemic changed many people’s opinion of Greece. “The government is generally seen to have performed well, while nowhere feels safer during a pandemic than an island in the sparkling Mediterranean.”
The article highlights a recent poll conducted by packaging retailer, RAJA, which ranked Athens as the best place to move to in 2022. To determine their winner, they examined all the good stuff, like employment rate, safety, cost of living and healthcare.

You’ll also have access to the Mediterranean diet that’s proven to help you live longer and that sees Greece rank consistently in the Top 20 for countries with the longest life expectancy, Property Guides says and adds:
“The Greek Golden Visa program is currently approving more people than Portugal’s coveted scheme. For a minimum investment in real estate of €250,000 and a processing time of just six months, you can get a Greek residence card that grants you full EU rights.”
The city of Athens has seen a dramatic transformation towards modernity over the last several years. It has now turned into one of the most trendy cities of Europe, offering endless cultural events, exhibitions, and concerts every single day and night. Street artists perform everywhere, and some have even left a personal touch of color on different walls around town.
However, Athens is or at least should be, better known for the impressive temples and other archaeological sites that are all around the city.
