The number is 10,550 cases fewer than yesterday’s record of 40,560.
On Thursday, Greece had recorded another staggering total of 35,580 cases of Covid-19, an increase of 6,752 over the 28,828 that has been recorded on Wednesday.
Slight decrease after five days of record-breaking coronavirus cases in Greece
Just 20 of Saturday’s cases were identified during routine Covid-19 testing of tourists at the country’s borders.
Currently, there are 620 patients with the coronavirus on ventilators in Greece, seven fewer than the 627 who were undergoing the invasive treatment on Friday.
A total of 59 people across Greece died with the coronavirus on Saturday, 17 fewer than the 76 people who succumbed with the virus on Friday. This brings the total number of deaths associated with the virus to 20,849 as of Saturday.
95.1% of the people who succumbed with the virus had underlying disease and/or were age 70 years and older.
Saturday marks a slight decrease in cases in the country. Yesterday, Friday was the fifth consecutive day that Greece has broken a record for the most cases in 24 hours since the beginning of the pandemic.
Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 226 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 1,278 are related to an already known case.
Among intubated patients, 534 (86.13%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 86 (13.87%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,767 patients have been discharged from the ICU across the country.
The number of admissions of new Covid-19 patients to Greek hospitals was 442, showing an increase of three over Friday.
The average number of admissions for coronavirus in Greece is 378 per week.
The total number of coronavirus cases recorded in Greece is 1,240,862, showing a daily increase of 2.5%, of which 50.3% are men.
The median age of all this suffering with the virus is 36 years, while the median age of death is 78 years.
