2020 LA Greek Film Festival Orpheus Award Winners

Orpheus Awards Hosts Christos Vasilopoulos and Chryssa Loucas

After being extended to October 21 due to high demand, the first ever virtual LAGFF is drawing to a close, and the 2020 Orpheus Award winners have been announced.

This year’s audience numbers were especially high, as viewers from the Greek diaspora and beyond could tune in from all over the world to watch the films in competition. All 55 movies are still up and able to be viewed until October 21, so go see anything you missed out on if you have a pass for the festival.

Best Feature: “Siege on Liperti Street”

Best Director: Stavros Pamballis (“Siege on Liperti Street”)

Best Performance: Katia Goulioni (“My Name is Eftihia”)

Best Short: “Index”

Best Documentary Feature: “As Far As The Sea”

Special Jury Award – Director: Rinio Dragasaki (“Cosmic Candy”)

Special Jury Award – Short: “Electric Swan”

Special Jury Award – Documentary: “Wax and Feathers”

Honorable Mention – Short: “The Distance Between Us And The Sky”

Honorable Mention – Documentary: “I, Tony”

Honorable Distinction – Animation: “Heatwave”
