Coronavirus Update: 144 New Cases, 4 Deaths in Greece

The National Public Health Organization (EODY) announced today that there have been 144 new Covid-19 cases in Greece in the past 24 hours; 24 of them were detected at the country’s entrance gates, while four people succumbed to the disease.
The number of cases has taken a downward turn in the past few days.
The total number of cases since the beginning of the outbreak has been 11,524,  (of which 55.7 percent are men. Of the total number, 2,245 (19.5 percent) are related to travel from abroad and 5,017 (43.5 percent) are related to an already known case.
There are four new deaths of Covid-19 patients, raising the total number to 284 since the beginning of the epidemic. Of them, 106 (37.3 percent) are women and the rest are men. The median age of the people who lost their lives is 78 years and 96.1 percent had an underlying disease and/or were age 70 years and over.
The number of patients treated by intubation is 41, with 75.6 percent of them being men. Their median age is 70 years. Ten of them (24.4 percent) are women and the rest are men. Also, 92.7 percent of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are aged 70 years and older.
A total of 161 patients have been discharged from the ICU since the coronavirus outbreak.
