Unseasonal Heat Wave Expected in Greece

Unseasonal temperatures of 35 degrees Celsius (95 Fahrenheit) are expected early in the coming week in Greece, while southern winds will bring dust from Africa, meteorologists say.
This is the first time that Greeks will have to deal with summer-like temperatures in the midst of the serious covid-19 pandemic.
The rise of hot air masses from Africa will cause very high temperatures – unexpectedly high for the season – in Greece and in the rest of southern Europe.
On the other hand, in northern Europe, cold air masses will cause a significant drop in temperature. As a result, the continent will be thermally divided into two parts.
According to the National Observatory of Athens forecast, the high temperatures will be accompanied by strong south winds in the Aegean carrying with them dust from Africa.
