Nikos Chardalias, Greece’s deputy minister of Civil Protection announced on Wednesday afternoon that all gatherings of ten people or more will be banned in the country beginning on Thursday.
This is the latest draconian emergency measure Athens has taken to tackle the global coronavirus pandemic.
Those who violate the new ban will be facing a fine of €1,000 per person.
On Wednesday, Greek authorities also confirmed thirty-one new diagnosed cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 418.
