This year’s NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo prepared his suitcases for Mykonos, to participate in the “Give n Rise” charity event benefiting the Elpida Association of Friends of Children with Cancer taking place on July 6, 2019, at Santanna Beach Club.
After he arrived he had an impromptu training session with his brother Thanasis at their magnificent hotel overlooking Mykonos . He wrote on Instagram: “This view makes me want to work harder. Can’t stop won’t stop.”
Together with his teammates from Milwaukee Bucks, George Hill and Brook Lopez, he will take part in the 1st Santanna Charity Event that will take place at the well-known beach club of Christos Athanasiadis and Dimitris Christoforidis in Paraga.
The event includes a Dunk Contest held at SantAnna’s famous pool that will be turned into a basketball court for the day, but also Antetokounmpo will have the role of the dj.
However, the Greek Freak and his friends will not be shooting hoops all the time, since they will be members of the jury that will award amateur dunkers from all over the world.
Among the judges will be his brothers Thanasis, Alex and Kostas, who will also get the feel of Mykonos alongside their big brother.
The president of “Elpida” Mrs. Marianna Vardinogiannis and the athlete’s mother will be present at the event, since part of the benefits will be allocated for the purposes of the club.
Last Saturday, thousands of Greeks greeted him as a hero at the Sepolia district of Athens, where the family grew up.
