Woman Dies After Falling off Corinth Canal's Bridge in Greece's Peloponnese

File photo

A woman fell off a bridge over the Corinth Canal which connects the Peloponnesian Peninsula with the rest of the Greek mainland in the early hours of Friday.
The woman has not been identified at this time, but according to local media she most likely was approximately 35 years of age.
There is still no information on whether the fall was an act of suicide by the unfortunate woman, or just a tragic accident which took her life.
Special rescue forces dove into the Corinth canal and retrieved the woman’s body. It was then transported to the General Hospital of Corinth, where doctors proclaimed her deceased.
The Corinth Canal cuts through the narrow Isthmus of Corinth and separates the Peloponnesian Peninsula from the Greek mainland.
