The death toll has risen to 36 after the flu claimed the lives of ten more people over this past week, data from the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (KEELPNO) showed on Thursday.
KEELPNO recorded 168 serious cases since the beginning of the flu season, 156 of which were placed in intensive care.
Victims who died resulting in complications from the flu virus were 15 women and 21 men ranging from 38-92 years of age. Thirty-five were assessed as being in the “high-risk” category and only seven had a recent case of the flu
