Loukoumades: Greek Fried Puffs Recipe

A traditional recipe for Loukoumades, the delicious Greek fried puffs with honey.

Make the syrop:
Boil in a pot:

  • 4lbs SUGAR
  • 1 lb HONEY
  • 1 lt WATER

Make the dough

  • 7oz/200gr FLOUR
  • 2oz/57gr CORN FLOUR
  • 0.3oz/8gr  DRY YEAST
  • 1/8 TEASPOON SALT
  • 1 TABLESPOON HONEY
  • 10fl oz/295ml LUKEWARM WATER
  • OIL FOR FRYING

Set the porridge to a warm place for 45 minutes

Take some dough in your palm and squeeze it out in a ball shape on a spoon and fry.

Fry for 1 minute each side.

Place the loukoumades in the syrop for 1 minute.

Serve with grated walnut and/or sesame.
