Help Fund Georgios Soumelidis’ Black Comedy ‘Opposites Attract’

Georgios Soumelidis

One of the new creative voices of the current independent Greek film movement, Georgios Soumelidis, has just launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund his new black comedy film, “Opposites Attract”.

The plot focuses on a young woman with two extreme sides to her personality – one is a skillful, merciless contract killer, and the other is a tender woman with nothing but love and affection for her girlfriend.

The short is filmed in a black action comedy style. Director Soumelidis chose this lighter tone because, as he states on his Kickstarter page, “in our everyday lives seriousness is dominant. It is suffocating”. He prefers a humorous tone when looking at life’s problems, which include the battle between opposite sides of our personality and the attraction that is created between people who are opposites as well.

“Opposites Attract” has a number of talented young Greeks working behind the scenes; cinematographer Bazil Christodoulou, writer Petros Argyriou, sound recordist Simos Lazaridis and producer Stephanie Capetanides. Director Soumelidis also helped write and produce the film.

If you want to help fund the film, contribute to the 4,000 Euro goal on Kickstarter.
