kavouri beachSwimmers should be cautious when selecting a beach of which to take a swim in the Attica region, representatives from Greece’s National Center for Ecological Research (PAKOE) say.
According to a recent report carried out by PAKOE inspectors at 17 various popular beaches in Attica, found a total of four that had water with high pollution levels and were dubbed unfit for swimmers due to unsafe bacteria levels in accordance to EU stipulations.
The beaches that have been blacklisted are Kavouri, Megalo Kavouri, Aghios Nikolaos in Lagonisi and the main beach in Saronida.
