Authorities announced on Thursday that the four bodies recovered off of the coast of the Greek island of Lesvos on Wednesday were members of a Syrian family from Aleppo.
The family of four, two parents and their two children aged 4 and 6-years-old, downed off the coast of the island when their inflatable dinghy capsized.
The family was identified via documents found in a plastic bag floating in the sea near the tragic event, according to reports from authorities.
Six other people who were on the vessel were rescued by the coast guard.
