Idomeni Railway Open, Yet No Train Can Travel

Idomeni
According to  the Athenian News Agency, Idomeni‘s railway — a neutral zone at the borders  between Greece and FYROM — re opens today after 30 days. Refugees and migrants who had camped out on the railway line connecting Greece and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) to protest the closure of the border have ended their demonstration.
The agency reported that the police operation started on Monday early in the morning when officers asked the refugees to remove their tents from the railway. The authorities stated that the operation was successfully completed without any tension and the refugees packed up their tents as they were asked to do and proceeded to move away from the railway tracks.
Even though the railway is tent free, there must be a check to be sure that that it is safe to allow the passage of trains. The necessary examinations will be done tomorrow, Tuesday.
