On Friday, New Democracy party (ND) suggested a new law that enables Greek expatriates to vote.
The law titled “Practice of the voting right during Parliament Elections, for Greek Expatriates and voters who live abroad,” will enable Greeks who live outside of the country to vote in the national elections.
“Greek expatriates are a valuable additional power, which Greece needs, especially during the very tough period that our country is undergoing. It is our duty to support them with actions. To make them participants in the reconstructing effort of Greece,” said ND’s party chief, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
“We are giving the opportunity to this inextricable and vital part of Hellenism to shape along with us the course of this land,” Mitsotakis adds.
Regarding this law, Mitsotakis calls all MPs of every party to vote for it. “Only if Greeks are united, wherever we are, we can make it,” Mitsotakis concludes.
