New Turkish NOTAM Challenges Greece's Airspace

turkish-air-forceTurkey complains that Greece has acted illegally by specifying the Greek territorial waters at 6 nautical miles and national airspace at 10 nautical miles.
According to the Turkish perspective, the national airspace should be equal to the national territorial waters. Therefore, national airspace should be at 6 nautical miles.
The NOTAM exchanges pertains to Turkish Navy and Air Force units that participate in exercises with the U.S. Navy in the Aegean. The exercises will take place on April 7, 16 miles east of the island of Rhodes.
However, according to the Sea Law Treaty, Greece’s territorial waters are at 12 nautical miles. Turkey has not signed the treaty.
