FYROM’s Gjorge Ivanov Criticizes Brussels for EU’s Refugee Policy

IdomeniFYROM’s president Gjorge Ivanov has justified the decision of his country to seal off the borders by saying in an interview to the German tabloid Bild that if they did not do so FYROM would be flocked by jihadists.
Ivanov says his country has been forced to pay for the actions of the European Union in the current migrant crisis, arguing that the influx has cost Macedonia $28 million so far.
The FYROM president criticized Brussels for EU’s refugee policy and also accused Germany for refusing collaboration with FYROM over security matters. He also accused Greece for allegedly allowing jihadists to enter the country.
Italy, Albania, and Bulgaria Deploy Police to Guard Borders
As Balkan countries have completely sealed off migrant trail, there are fears that refugees and migrants may cross over to Albania.
Accordingly, Albania is now deploying extra police to guard its borders, but the Italian government has also decided to send members of its own police force on the Albania-Italy border as part of an agreement reached recently between the two countries.
In fact, there was a meeting recently between the heads of police of the two countries to coordinate activities for the protection of the Albany-Italy border.
Italy is concerned that if refugees and migrants managed to find their way to Albania they may end up on its own shores through the Adriatic sea.
