New Greek Ambassador in Canberra

canberraThe new Greek Ambassador to Australia Ekaterini Xagorari arrived in Canberra on Monday, January 11, accompanied by her husband and son. The new ambassador was welcomed at the airport by the Chief of Protocol of the Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

As planned, Xagorari is expected to deliver her credentials to the local authorities by the end February.

Xagorari was born in Athens in 1964. She has a degree in Political Science and Public Administration from the National and Capodistrian University of Athens Law School. She also studied at the National School of Public Administration’s Department of Diplomacy.

She joined the Diplomatic Service in 1990 and since then she has served as Consul of Greece in Munich, Germany, Consul of Greece in Edirne, and Deputy Director at the Directorate for Turkey.
