Greek Prime Minister Meets European Commission Vice President in Athens

dombrovkiGreek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras met with European Commission Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis at the Maximou Palace in Athens on Monday evening.
After meeting with Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos earlier in the day, Dombrovskis noted that he had a positive and constructive conversation with the Greek Prime Minister which centred around bailout financing for Greece, the recapitalization of Greek banks and the speedy utilization of community funds available to Greece.
He added that  the banking recapitlaization should happen by November 15, following the completion of the first review of the new bailout. The two men also discussed the refugee crisis and following the meeting Dombrovskis referred to the 5.9 million euros that will be disbursed to Greece to help the country deal with this crisis.
ANA-MPA cites sources within the Greek government who claim that Tsipras spoke with Dombrovskis on the controversial matter of protection of the first home, which is an issue that the Greek government and creditors have not been able to agree to so far. The Greek Prime Minster also noted that Greece is carrying a disproportional burden on its borders and in its seas in relation to the refugee crisis in comparison to other European Union states.
