European Commission Vice President: Greece Could Get Bailout Funds Next Week

DombrovskisEuropean Commission Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis said Greece is expected to get permission to receive two billion euros of bailout funds next week, Bloomberg reported.
Responding to whether Greece could get the funds next week Dombrovskis said “I would say so.”
Last week the Greek Parliament legislated a set of prior actions that were required for the disbursement of the two billion euros. Representatives of the institutions of Greece’s creditors are currently in Athens to examine how the implementation of the bailout’s prescribed reforms and measures is going up until this point. The talks between the representatives and the Greek authorities over the next two days will influence whether Dombrovskis’ expectation materializes.
The Commission’s Vice president is set to arrive in Greece on October 26 for a two day visit, which will include a visit with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.
