Greek-American actress Angie Harmon has always played a role in law enforcement on screen, whether as an assistant DA in “Law & Order” or in her current role as a detective on “Rizzoli & Isles”, but she is also committed to justice in her real life.
Harmon has been a spokesperon for UNICEF’s End Trafficking Project for the last two years, which focuses on raising awareness of the extent of child trafficking and working to end the problem as well as protect at-risk children internationally.
As Harmon herself said in a recent CCTV interview, ““It is horrible and it is repulsive and disgusting and completely sad that it still exists, you know, in society today…It’s a global problem that has to be stopped.”
The actress also has a line of jewelry, the Angie Harmon Red Earth Collection, that she collaborates on with designers from Kenya. Part of the profits from every piece of jewelry sold go to UNICEF to help combat child trafficking.
