A Family Feud Continues from Fathers to Sons in Crete

vendettaA 24-year-old Greek man from the island of Crete was shot while enjoying his drink at a bar in Chania. The 25-year old shooter immediately left the scene but was later arrested by Greek police.
However, the shooting was not a random incident, it was part of a vendetta that started back in 2011 when the victim’s father fatally wounded the shooter’s father, due to a misunderstanding. Despite the fact that both families had agreed that the feud would not go on, they were not able to prevent the attempt on the young Greek man’s life, who was shot five times in front of several people.
According to the Greek police, the 25-year-old man was drinking at the bar, when he noticed the 24-year-old came to the same bar with his friends. After some time, the 25-year-old man left the bar, took his car, stopped in front of the bar entrance, got out and shot at the younger victim five times at close range. The young man was wounded in the head, neck and legs.
The victim was immediately transferred to a local hospital where he underwent surgery to remove the bullet from his head. According to the doctors his condition remains stable and when his health improves the surgeons will remove the second bullet which is lodged in his neck, but has not affected any vital organs.
Meanwhile, a shocking video which shows the exact moment of the shooting has been circulating Greek media. The video clearly shows the offender entering the bar, approaching the victim, who was sitting at table with his friends, and shooting at him in cold blood.
The shooter fled the scene but was arrested a few hours later in Chania by Greek police officers.
