Austrian Hikers Missing in Kapsa Gorge Found Dead

Hikers Μissing in Kapsa
Two hikers from Austria that were reported missing and possibly seriously injured in their attempt to traverse Kapsa Gorge in the Makry Gialos area of Lasithi on Crete, Greece, have been found dead, rescue workers announced on Friday.
The two hikers, aged between 60 and 65, were part of a group of seven people from Austria that were on a tour of the gorge and fell from a great height for unknown reasons, possibly due to a rockfall.
Rescue teams mobilised to look for them finally found the two tourists dead, with multiple injuries.
A rescue operation had earlier been mounted by Greece’s search and rescue team EMAK, with the assistance of 11 firemen and two fire brigade vehicles, as well as a team of volunteers from the Red Cross Samaritans.
