Father Murders Son in Astros Village

Horrible Crime in Greece
A father shot his son to death and then burned the body to hide his traces in the Astros Village of Peloponnese, Greece, August 15.
The 39-year-old son lived in Attica and used to visit his parents quite often. According to locals, father and son did not have a good relationship and they had frequent arguments. Sometimes the arguments resulted in violent fights, according to neighbors.
On August 15, the holiday of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the two fought again and the 75-year-old father pulled his shotgun and shot his son three times, killing him instantly.
After removing the license plates, the father put the body in his son’s car and drove it to a deserted location, police sources said.
The body was discovered by firefighters, who were called to the area after locals reported a vehicle on fire.
The father admitted killing his son and that his family members assisted him in taking the body to a remote area and setting it on fire.
The father was granted an extension to testify by the Nafplion district prosecutor. The other four family members (the victim’s mother, aged 67, his 71-year-old old uncle, his 70-year-old aunt and his 53-year-old brother in law) also got an extension to testify.
The perpetrator claimed that his son was blackmailing and beating him and that he could not bear it any longer. So, after they had another fight on August 15, he shot him with his gun.
The father is charged with premeditated manslaughter, arson attack, perjury and violation of firearm possession laws.
