Turkish Vessel Violates Greek Territorial Waters Again

The Turkish vessel “Gelibolu” sailed in Greek territorial waters from 1am to 11:30 am on Monday June 2. The military frigate sailed alongside the coastal lines of the Greek islands Naxos, Paros and Milos for many hours as if it were sailing on a cruise.
The Turkish Navy has recently adopted the habit of sailing close to the Greek coastline violating regulations of innocent passage enshrined in the Law of the Sea.
Hellenic National Defence General Staff reported that the Turkish frigate sailed from Aksaz base and entered the Greek territorial sea from the north of Naxos island and remained within the Greek territory until 11:30 am, sailing around Milos and Paros.
The Greek Ministry of Defence stated “Navy ships and Air Force aircrafts were watching the Turkish vessel throughout the duration of  its sailing.”
