USA Invites Greek Investors

greek investorsThe U.S. is addressing a call to Greek businessmen, paving the way for investors, at the same time that Greece itself is also trying to attract investment.
During an event organized by the U.S. Embassy, the U.S. Commercial Service, the U.S. consulate in Thessaloniki and the city’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EBETH), American diplomats spoke to entrepreneurs in Thessaloniki, under the program “SelectUSA.”
Geographically, the U.S. and Greece are far apart. In investments, however, it appear that the two countries have more in common than Greek businessmen think, at least according to the event’s speakers, who shared their experiences.
“Exports are not a challenge for Greeks. Exports are essentially transfers of boxes, it is logistics. The challenge is to develop an international business. Why the U.S.? Because the U.S. welcome Greek enterprises thanks to the large Greek communities that live on both the east and the west coast, but also because they offer strong incentives to investors from foreign countries,” said Socratis Ploussas, from Mellon Advisory, collaborator of Hickey & Associates.
