Thessaloniki 'Victim of Economic Crisis' Commits Suicide

suicideA 57-year-old man in Thessaloniki chose the date of his birth to take his own life after falling into depression when the bond haircut cost him his life savings.
The tragic incident occurred yesterday afternoon, when his wife spotted him hanging from a tree near the family’s holiday home in Halkidiki.
According to his wife, the man was depressed since the bond haircut and he had siad many times that he was planning to end his life.
“I did not think my husband could do such a thing… He used to say it, and make jokes about it, but I never thought he would actually do it,” said his wife, Antigone Karasavvas.
With absolute tranquility and composure, the woman told local news that her husband was a “victim of the Greek economic crisis, who believed in the Greek state and deposited his money in the state… He believed it would be safer than banks.”
