A huge scientific breakthrough thousands of years in the making is imminent this summer, with experts claiming that they will soon be able to decode the Phaistos Disc, having decrypted almost 90 percent of its symbols.
According to the International Relations Office of Crete’s Technological Educational Institute (TEI), directed by Dr. Gareth Owens, a series of linguistic analysis and epigraphic studies led to the deciphering of 90 percent of the symbols. In conjunction with Linear B, this would allow the reading of the famous Phaistos Disc after thousands of years.
Although it is the first time that analysis has advanced to this stage, only now can scientists say that the Phaistos Disc is referring to a feminine deity.
