Taxis exclusively for women may soon be available in the streets of Melbourne.
This is another ingenious idea coming from Greek Australian Charis Katsiampanis, who is a taxi owner. He said that he will soon circulate 50 pink taxis in Melbourne, which will be driven only by women and will carry only women.
Mr. Katsiampanis believes that with this concept he will minimize instances of sexual harassment toward women by male taxi drivers.
To be able to implement his idea, Mr. Katsiampanis should be excluded by the Equal Opportunities Commission, because in accordance with applicable law, one can not discriminate in recruitment or provide services exclusively for just one sex.
