Samaras and Merkel- Brief Meeting at EU Summit

samaras-merkelIt seems that the German opinion for the Greek economic program hasn’t changed, or at least that’s the impression the German Chancellor Angela Merkel gave after her a recent meeting in Brussels.
After the EU Summit, Angela Merkel was asked if she had discussed lightening the measures of the new program for Greece, during her meeting with Prime Minister Antonis Samaras.  Merkel denied having any conversation of this sort, adding that Troika will be coming to Athens in November.
According to sources from Brussels, the meeting with Antonis Samaras and Angela Merkel was brief.  It was also reported that the Chancellor had agreed on a telephone conversation with Samaras, scheduled within the next few days.
At the same time, the Greek Minister of Finance Yannis Stournaras set forth a table of negotiations and some strong measures, stating that the Greek government says no only to the horizontal measures.
