Strong Earthquake Hits Central Greece

8FF20EB5FAA2D3A5AC572121BF5B5B03On August 7 an earthquake struck at 12:06 p.m in Amphicleia, in the prefecture of Phocis, estimated at 5.3 Richter, according to the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Institute.
According to preliminary data the epicenter is located 10 km. southeast of Lamia and 120 km northwest of Athens. The focal depth was estimated at 10km.
According to the Euro-Mediterranean Institute, just a few minutes earlier,  at 12:02, there was an earthquake of 4.1 Richter.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
