Voulgaridou Performs at Sydney Opera House

sopranoWorld famous Greek soprano Alexia Voulgaridou is now in Australia to perform Puccini’s, Tosca to be presented at the Sydney Opera House from July 6 to August 31.

Voulgaridou is excited to perform at the Sydney Opera House, which she said is an object of art. “This show is an important milestone in my career,” she said.

“Of course my debut in Scala Santa was a great turning point in my career. When I stepped on stage I thought I was where I wanted. For me there is no greater recognition for a singer. Yes, London (Covent Garden), Metropolitan Opera in New York were very important too, but Scala and the huge success I had with the audience was for me the crown of laurel.”

“The first important milestone in my career was the opera, La Boheme, in Bregenz, with the famous tenor Rollando Villazon at my side. It all started from there. In my career journey, everything was somehow important, they were links in a chain.  Everything helped to get me where I am. Moments spectacular and fateful as I worked recently with Marcello Alvarez, conductors Sr Colin Davis, Riccardo Muti, Lorin Maazel, Zubin Mehta, and also the wonderful Marcello Viotti, who died so young. “
