Seven Earthquakes Overnight in Crete

Image.ashx_393_355Seismologists are closely watching the course of the aftershock sequence, with 4.6 Richter being the most powerful tremor southeast of Timpaki.
Great concern has spread about the ongoing seismic activity on the island of Crete. There have been more than 40 aftershocks since June 15 when a strong earthquake was felt across the island, causing fear among residents.
On June 18, active seismic activity was recorded, as from midnight until dawn seven earthquakes from 4.6 to 3.2 Richter magnitude were recorded, all with the same epicenter, located 70 to 90 kilometers southeast of Timpaki.
Fortunately, the earthquake caused no damage or injuries.
