Construction Activity Fell in March 2013

oikodomConstruction activity fell dramatically in March 2013, as the volume of private construction activity shrank by 55,5 percent, while the severe drop in the number of building permits issued in March is not at all  promising for the near future.
According to data of the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT), the volume of private construction activity in March throughout the country reached 1,206 building permits. There was a 50,9 percent reduction in the number of building permits, 52,5 percent at surface and 55,5 percent in volume, in relation to March 2012.
The first three months in 2013, private construction activity presented throughout the country a reduction of 44,2 percent in the number of building permits, 43,6 percent at surface and 43,5 percent in volume, in relation to the same period January-March 2012.
