Detained Greeks Released From Occupied Cyprus

greeksThree Greeks who were being held in the Turkish-occupied territory of Cyprus have been released, the Greek Foreign Ministry said.
The three Greek citizens were detained after being accused of having unlawfully entering the Turkish territories being held in defiance of international law. There is a crossing point in the capital of Nicosia.
After the intervention of the Greek Foreign Minister, Dimitris Avramopoulos, the Greek embassy in Nicosia, which had asked UN Peacekeeping Force to intervene as well, was mobilized.
The UN’s representative on the island was also asked to intervene.
