The Municipality of Zakynthos is organizing for the second year in a row the International of Art and Creation Festival which aims to establish international art meetings on an annual basis and use the island as its destination.
Besides the artistic renderings of the natural beauty and historical monuments of the island coupled with the use of technology and new means of communication, a view of the island around the world will also be offered.
Officials said the goal is to strengthen relationships and the expansion of the cultural activities between the countries as well as the gradual creation of a cultural venue in Zakynthos, which will host the projects created in the annual meetings.
Actions for this year’s event are starting on Tuesday, May 7, with a painting exhibition, which will host last year’s paintings of the artists. It will be held in the building of the Regional Unit of Zakynthos.
The second Art and Creativity Meeting will be attended by Russians, Dutch, Spanish, Chinese and Greek artists, photographers and journalists, who will be in Zakynthos from May 20 to participate in the project. Also, the famous French painter Giacomo de Pass will also attend the event as an honored guest.
During their stay, the artists are expected to occur many different events – actions such as advanced painting classes, painting in the countryside, roundtable discussion on issues related to art, creation of a painting by all participants, an evening of friendship, tours etc.
The paintings will be exhibited in the Club Zakynthos and the photos in the venue of Casino at St. Mark’s Square. Local entrepreneurs and other sponsors are going to be the benefactors of this great art festival, by undertaking the hospitality, catering and tour of the artists.
