Greek-Australian Nominee for The Best Jobs in the World

antidimarhos_thessalonikis_melvoyrni_784141_bA young Greek-Australian who lives in Melbourne has entered the top 25 finalists nominated for one of the six places of The Best Jobs in the World, a competition in Australia.

Her name is Elenore Argyropoulos and was chosen among 40,000 candidates from all around the world for the position, Photographer of Life in Melbourne.

This is a six-month occupation in which 330,000 people from 200 countries were interested. They were called to submit a 30-second-videο explaining why they think they are the most suitable for the job, which will be paid 100,000 dollars.

Argyropoulos bases her nomination on her Greek origin as well as on the important Greek presence in Melbourne.

The campaign was based on a 2009 initiative of the authorities of the state of Queensland, who were seeking a guard for the island, the fabled Great Barrier Reef. In the 2009 competition, 35,000 people tried their luck and the winner was the British Ben Southol.

The winners of the big Melbourne competition will be announced on June 21.
