Harlem Shake Arouses All Greece

Harlem Shake Arouses All GreeceThe gone-viral Internet dance craze the Harlem Shake trend has Greeks up and swinging along to the beat and downloading videos at a record pace.
Harlem Shake Greek Acropolis Edition video with the Acropolis on the background has already been clicked by more than 95,000 people in Youtube Website, although there are others around the country showing their stuff too.
The Acropolis version though has a particular Greek feel, showing off the Parthenon, cold frappe cofees, Backgammon and the Greek sunshine as a backdrop.
Another effort, this one at Thisseio in Athens near the old flea market got 2,000 people to show up and jump around for the dance craze, the latest to take off on the Internet before the next trend comes along. It has more than 250,000 hits.
The Harlem Shake trend has affected Thessaloniki as well, as in the University of Macedonia, where  students danced, as they did at the University of Athens.
Harlem Shake is a song recorded by American DJ and producer Baauer. It was released as a free digital download by Mad Decent imprint label Jeffree’s on May 22, 2012. The uptempo song incorporates a mechanical bass line, Dutch house synth riffs, a dance music drop, and samples of growling-lion sounds.
It also samples Plastic Little’s 2001 song Miller Time, specifically the vocal “Then Do The Harlem Shake”, which is an allusion to the dance of the same name. Baauer added a variety of peculiar sounds to the song so that it would stand out.
