Oscar-winning, Spanish superstar Javier Bardem touched millions of Greeks, as he appealed to them in their own language. In the Greek section of Medicines Sans Frontiers latest campaign, Pills for Other People’s Pain, Javier Bardem called upon Greeks to teach the world a lesson of solidarity for the needy and less fortunate who have no access to health care. Buying a box of pastilles helps relieve another person’s pain. Bardem spoke Greek at the end of the campaign.
Pills for Other People’s Pain, is a comprehensive awareness and fundraising campaign of Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors without Borders). With the symbolic purchase of a box of six sugar-free candies with honey and thyme, found in almost every pharmacy in Greece, part of the money (1,60 €) contributes to the effort of Doctors Without Borders to help patients without health care in Greece and around the world.
