Lloyd's Lists Greek Shipowners in Top 100

ship ownersFourteen Greek ship-owners and shipping senior managers are included in Lloyd’s List with the 100 Top Businessmen in the world.
It is noteworthy that two of them, George Economou and John Angelicoussis, are among the five first.
Angeliki Frangkou, Peter Livanos, George Prokopiou, Victoras Restis, Kostantinos Kostantakopoulos, Simeon Palios, Nikos Tsakos, Theodoros Veniamis, Kostas Grammenos, Dimitris Melissanidis, Evangelos Marinakis and Peter Georgiopoulos are the top Greek ship-owners in the list.
According to shipping data, Greek ship-owners have invested 3,8 billion dollars in 2012, while Greek shipping companies have obtained 217 vessels. In the shipbuilding market, Greeks seem to have ordered 97 new vessels with value 4 billion dollars.
Chinese are more active in shipbuilding than Greeks, with 125 new vessel orders in total compared to 244 the previous year. In total, Greeks’ investments in the shipping field are 32% reduced compared to January-September 2011.
