Registration Time for Cyprus Presidential Ballot

electionsCyprus’ Electoral office has called on new voters to submit an application in time in order to get registered in the Electoral List and issue of a Voting Card for the Feb. 17, 2013 Presidential election.
Half a million people will be entitled to vote at more 1,200 polling stations in Cyprus and abroad in the election, the first time that polling stations will operate abroad for a Presidential ballot. For Cypriots by origin who acquire the Cypriot citizenship, no six-month period is required for the submission of an application. The last day of application submission is Jan. 1, 2013.
A special electoral list has been offered through which voters are able to have their personal information transferred, as long as they submit an application. The electoral office has prepared application forms for those who want to vote abroad with a deadline of Jan. 2, 2013. Relevant application forms may be supplied at the District Administrations and at the Civil Registry and Migration Department, Ministry of the Interior.
