Nikos A. Kavadias Passes Away


Acclaimed prose writer and poet Nikos A. Kavadias born in Corfu in 1938, passed away on November 2 in Athens, where he had been living and working for many years.
Kavadias studied medicine at the Military School of Thessaloniki and served in various military units, hospitals and the Centre for Biological Research of the Greek Army.
His work includes important novels, short stories, essays and studies, with two of them focusing on the literature work of Konstantinos Theotokis. He was a close associate of the literature magazine Porfyras circulating in Corfu, and a member of the Writers Association.
His published works include Daphne (1990), Fear and Hope (1991), Triestina (2003), a collection of poems and novels The first day (1995) and The unexpected (1996).
