Three men were killed and eight more were injured today morning (Monday 23rd) when a bus of the local transportion agency fell into a gorge on Chios island near Sikiada village.
The bus was heading to Viki village, having departed from the island’s centre. According to local media’s reports, six men have been already set free.
Chios authorities have not made any statement in regards to the accident yet and no one is aware of what might have caused such tragedy.
Chiospress.gr reports that the bus left its driving line, hit onto the protecting bars of the street, spun in the air while colliding down the gorge in flames.
Two women and one man have already died due to the accident while at least eight more have been injured. Officials of the local police department and fire brigade are trying to extinguish the fire and save the rest of the passengers while locals rushed to the area to help by any means they could.
