Miss Greece World 2012 Candidate Disqualified by Crisis

The Greek state is cutting spending in every sector and thus, it could not afford a beauty contest. Every year, the Greek people were used to electing Star Hellas and Miss Hellas, but the financial crisis has made TV channels cut the contest.
No one knew that we would send our Greek candidate to China this year. But some people of the fashion sector decided, as appears,  to send a Greek woman to try be awarded Miss World 2012, even though she was never elected a candidate!
Maria Tsagkaraki, a beautiful young lady from Heraklion, Crete and will be our country’s contestant in the 2012 beauty competition. She has been  awarded Miss Crete 2009 and B’ Star Hellas 2010 but was never selected by Greeks as a Miss World 2012 candidate.
On Wednesday morning, she flew to distant China to prepare herself for the upcoming event. Everyone wished her good luck, but there were others who complained that she had been selected without an open contest.
