Athens International Airport Wins International Recognition

The Athens International Airport once again has received an international award, in fact the eleventh in a period of eight years. During the Routes Europe 2012 (May 20-22), the biggest airport and airline conference in the world which took place in Tallinn, Estonia, our national airport gained world-class recognition.
Hosted by the Tallinn Airport in collaboration with their partners from the Estonian Tourist Board, Tallinn City Tourist Office & Convention Bureau and Estonian Ai, 7th Routes Europe awarded the Athens International Airport in a special honorary category, “Mediterranean/S.Europe.” The award takes note of the creativity of airport personnel and constant development efforts in cooperation with airlines programs. The international award comes in a time of harsh economic conditions giving a sense of optimism to the nation.
